Ameer is the Founder and Chairman of BasharSoft, the company behind WUZZUF and FORASNA - Egypt's leading online employment platforms for white-collar and blue-collar workers respectively. Collectively, both platforms impacted the lives of 7 million+ job seekers in Egypt, and helped 70,000+ companies hire more than 1 million people over the past years. In 2019, he was selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur and named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He also sits on the board of ITIDA, the executive arm of the Ministry of ICT in Egypt, helping set programs and policies for Egypt on digitisation, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Today, he leads the company's expansion into Saudi Arabia, the GCC and Africa. Replicating its success building efficient digital employment marketplaces and ecosystems, enabling sustainable social and economic growth for millions of people and SMBs. He advises policy makers, government, and VC funds on the topics of job markets, employment, entrepreneurship and innovation. He's also a VP with Khwarizmi Ventures, a $70m MENA focused VC fund based in KSA, advising portfolio founders and companies across the MENA region. Ameer holds a MSc degree in Computer Engineering and BSc in Electronic and Communications both from Cairo University. He also completed executive programs on Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School and business leadership executive programs at MIT, Stanford, INSEAD, and HBS.
